Our Story

Founded in 1997, The Reid Group emerged from the commitment of John Reid and Tom Reid to create a vital consulting organization. Their goal was to respond creatively to the many needs in our hurting world and help individuals and organizations grow. Armed with an extensive background in the university, church and non-profit communities, as well as the business world, Tom and John were eager to apply their organizational and leadership development skills to help Catholic communities, non-profit organizations, families and individuals be more effective.

From the beginning, The Reid Group provided services that:

Strategic Planning & Fund Development

The Reid Group believes creative and comprehensive planning is vital for both leaders and organizations, and leads to greater focus and achievement.  Implementation of the comprehensive strategic plan often benefits from assistance with fund development to ensure the full realization of the plan’s vision. 

The Reid Group believes that Fund Development is a service that benefits donors as much as recipient organizations by offering the opportunity to align their values with meaningful missions and be involved in an enterprise larger than themselves.  We assist leaders and organizations with a wide range of fund development efforts, from development audits to feasibility studies and capital campaigns.

Leadership Formation & Leadership Search

For every organization, the recruitment and ongoing support of leaders are critically important.  Make the right decisions and the organization is likely to thrive; make the wrong or a poor decision, and the organization will struggle at best.  

The Reid Group’s leadership coaching and development practice is committed to serving executives, senior leaders, and administrators and their teams to develop, maximize and sustain organizational leadership.  We work with high capacity, high potential leaders to develop and leverage strengths to maximize effective, sustainable leadership.  In addition, we work with leaders to enhance their leadership performance and effectiveness. 

When vacancies occur in key leadership positions, The Reid Group offers effective leadership search services.  We specialize in leadership searches for Catholic dioceses, colleges and universities, health care institutions and religious communities, as well as parishes and schools.

Mediation & Peacemaking

Mediation is a process built on respectful communication practices and designed to clarify issues, needs and preferred options for the future. The mediator is a trained professional who brings a neutral perspective to the conversation and works so that all opinions are heard and valued.
